Back in the Space Systems Lab
Faradine Systems engineer Jason Rexroat lays out action items for the University of Kentucky team responsible for the delivery of SgSat for flight later this year. SgSat is a 1U cubesat designed to prove the concept of a stellar gyroscope (SG). Developed by Dr. Samir Rawashdeh, the SG is a novel system of small satellite attitude determination that utilizes successive star field photos to determine relative motion in space. The determination method was originally tested on KySat-2, which Jason and I helped build while researchers in the UK Space Systems Lab as part of a large team representing multiple universities and organizations across the sate.
